Who operates it

Somaliland Recognition, the team operating this website, runs the campaign and its private operator tools. The privacy choices linked below are the contact path for withdrawal or deletion.

Joining is one action

When you join, your X handle, profile photo, X profile link, and country (when available for public display) appear on the campaign homepage and Signatures page. Joining the campaign and appearing publicly are one action, not two choices. There is no private member mode: if you do not want to be listed, do not join, or withdraw at any time.

What we use

X provides your account ID, current handle, public profile image, and public metrics needed for eligibility and private ordering. Cloudflare derives a country code from the connection for country display; it is not used to choose content or determine eligibility. The X connection is read-only and registers membership without creating, editing, or publishing any X post. We do not use your self-entered profile location and do not request email, ZIP code, address, precise location, contacts, direct messages, offline access, or tweet.write permission.

Follower data

Your follower count is used only to verify eligibility and order signatures. It is never shown on public pages, is not serialized in public page data, and is not sent to analytics.

Anonymous page measurement

Public pages use Google Analytics 4 to measure anonymous, aggregate usage such as how many people visit a page. Advertising features are disabled and IP addresses are anonymized. We never send X handles, account IDs, follower counts, country labels, draft text, or another supporter identifier to Google. Unapproved query values are removed before the page address is shared. Measurement starts only after you accept the consent prompt, stays off if you decline, and is stored only as a choice in your browser. It never affects eligibility, membership, or your public listing.

What we retain

We retain participation state, public profile image URL, current handle, the follower snapshot needed for eligibility and private ordering, the normalized Cloudflare country code, and the minimum account reference needed to enforce one participation per round and honor privacy requests. We do not retain reason selections, audience keys, draft text, X posts created by this campaign, or write-scoped supporter tokens. Historical public-attribution consent records are retained only as evidence of an earlier product version and have no effect on your current public listing.

Public co-signers

Every current, eligible, non-withdrawn Recognition Champion appears in the public Co-Signed by: list and Signatures page. Those pages show the X handle, avatar or accessible fallback, X profile link, normalized country label, and country flag without requiring sign-in. Follower snapshots are used only for deterministic server-side ordering and are not shown or sent to the browser.

Country display

Country display uses your stored X-derived country. Somalia, SO, and equivalent stored values are shown only as Somaliland with the constitutional green flag. An unknown or missing country uses the existing safe unknown-country presentation.

Withdrawal

You can withdraw through Privacy & withdrawal at any time, even if your account no longer meets the follower threshold or the campaign is paused or closed. Withdrawal removes your signature immediately and deletes linked campaign data within seven days, while anonymous totals may be retained. Repeating withdrawal is safe and does not extend the deletion deadline.

Private operators

Authorized operators can filter historical campaign records by the normalized country code and review safety, account, ranking, and deletion work through Cloudflare Access-protected HTML pages. The ranking has no export endpoint.
